View Full Version : Chemotherapy

Slightly random question, but I start chemotherapy in a week. Do you think I can continue using the LaserComb? My understanding is that chemotherapy makes your hair fall out by killing your hair cells as they divide, and the LaserComb is only stimulating hair follicles; so in theory it should still work, and I shouldn't find that I have a receding hairline when my hair grows back after chemo. Is there any official advice about whether the two treatments conflict or interact at all?? I do note that some people have a chemo curl when their hair grows back, so maybe chemotherapy can affect the follicles slightly after all?

Thanks in advance,

Hi Hair Ball -

Thank you for your post.

We have not conducted any studies on the prevention of chemotherapy induced hair loss. Therefore, we do not have any recommendation for you as to whether you should try to continue the HairMax while undergoing chemotherapy. We suggest that you discuss that with your physician.

While we have also not conducted clinical studies, we do believe that the HairMax may help to restore hair faster and to a more normal appearance after chemotherapy has ended. Therefore, you might want to use the HairMax at that point until your hair returns.

We wish you success with your chemotherapy treatment.
