Hi everyone
I have 2 simple question:
1) whats the exact difference between HairMax Professional and HairMax Premium
2) you wrote here (www.hairmaxforum.com/forum/showthread.php?10376-New-Models-Of-The-Hairmax-Lasercomb):"The presently marketed HairMax LaserComb Premium in the US, is the same model that was the given FDA Clearance to Market." BUT here (http://www.thebaldtruth.com/news/fda-warning-letter-hairmax-lasercomb/)in a message from FDA they said:"FDA inspectors cite that the HairMax LaserComb® Premium and SE models, that are currently being sold to the public, differ from the cleared HairMax LaserComb in dose rate, method of delivery, and/or treatment parameters"
So which HairMax product is exactly the one which has the FDA clearance?

Hi Redeyedfrog -

Thank you for your post.

You unfortunately are quoting very old information, so this will provide current information and answer your question.

ALL models of the HairMax LaserCombs, i.e. the HairMax Advanced 7, the Lux 9, the Premium, and the Professional 12 now have FDA Clearance for marketing for treating hereditary hair loss in both men and women. Please see the following link.

http://www.hairmax.com/fda-clearance-hairmax

All models deliver the same laser energy, the only difference being the recommended application time, i.e. the Professional 12 has more laser diodes and therefore requires less treatment time than the Premium with 9 laser modules.

We hope that this has answered your question and we wish you success in your treatment with the HairMax LaserComb.

Hi,

In your another post i.e. 'Sticky: Number Of Lasers Required For Hair Growth' you acknowledged that more laser is not beneficial.
Whereas here you are saying that few of Hairmax models have more laser diodes (and are beneficial as it reduces the application time). e.g. the Professional 12 has more laser diodes and therefore requires less treatment time than the Premium with 9 laser modules.
Can you help me understand the difference between these two things?

Hi akhil.agarwal -

The action of lasers is dependent on the TOTAL output of laser wavelength they emit and is NOT dependent on the number of lasers used to give this output.

Therefore, each model of the HairMax is designed to have the identical total laser energy output. While the HairMax Advanced 7 model has 7 laser modules, the HairMax Premium/Lux 9 has 9 laser models, and the HairMax Professional 12 has 12 laser modules, the individual lasers are designed and programmed, (depending on the model) so that how ever many lasers there are on the models, the TOTAL energy output delivered to the scalp is the same regardless of whether there are 7, 9, or 12 laser modules on the device. The only difference between the models is that the more laser modules contained in a model means that there is a larger 'field' of lasers and therefore, more coverage occurs on each 'sweep' and therefore this decreases the treatment time.

We wish you success in your use of the HairMax LaserComb.
